SpeedTap

by

SpeedTap is an addictive colour shade perception game with a simple objective: find the square that is unlike the others and tap it. Sound easy enough? Think again! You’re under a time limit!

Single Player mode - Play on many grid sizes ranging from a 3x3 grid to an 8x8 grid. You have 2 seconds to find and tap the outlier. Earn 1 point for each correct tap. The time to find outliers decreases and the colour differences become smaller as you progress. Can you achieve at least 50 points on each grid size? Tapped the wrong square? Don’t worry, we’ll tell you which one was the outlier.

Multiplayer - Show off your colour shade perception skills against others! See how many points you can get in 60 seconds on a 4x4 grid. Can you score 100 points or more?

Achievements - The best-of-the-best achievement hunters will be busy for a long time with 34 achievements to unlock. How many can you achieve without breaking a sweat?

Leaderboards - With a total of 7 leaderboards, you have 7 opportunities to become the best in the world. What are you waiting for? Start tapping now!

This version marks our first venture into localization with translation of the text in the game from English to French (with other languages coming in future releases). You can easily switch languages within the settings menu.

Other languages will be coming in future releases.

Actually quite an addictive game. The core gameplay mechanic works as intended and is quite fun, especially because the colors seem to blend more and more into each other over time making the game harder, so good job on that!

I just found that the minimalistic look you were going for doesn't quite work everywhere in your game. The main game screen looks fine, but the title screen and some of the (sub-)menus have some weird/inconsistent looking menu items (like the Google Play Logo (blurry) and Sound Button on the options screen).

I also think that you shouldn't force Google Play Login when you start up the app as a lot of people hate to do that. Maybe just do that when the highscore button is pressed or something like that.

Last, but not least, the soundeffects (well, the soundeffect) you are using can get monotone quite quickly, so maybe change the pitch of the sound piece on every press or use multiple sound effects for the button press.

Overall, your game sure could use some work (like every game does!) but I thought it was quite enjoyable and actually addictive for what it was, so keep doing what you're doing!

Thanks for the roast! We've uploaded a new version of the game on the Google Play store with better assets for the Google Play logo and the sound icon and we have disabled the automatic Google Play login. We're currently looking into some fitting additional sounds.

The game has the funny mechanic of clicking on the different rectangle. Game shows how to play clearly too. These are the two things I liked the most.
I think that you could improve IU. There is no visual or audio feedback that you are touching the button for example. Game's font also looks a little bit too boring (I don't mean the logo, it looks well).

The game mechanics is unique and challenging. But the graphics needs a lot of improvement. It is not eye catchy...

This is not a game that will draw us into long evenings, but you can face your friends.
Maybe some cool animation is missing that would make a simple game more attractive
