20Words - android game

by

Obsess with brain teasers word puzzles? Need a helping hand from feeling cynical about life, such as uneasy, over-stressed, empty, lonely, losers, whimpers, quitters, and its mumbo-jumbo derivatives?

Introducing 20Words, a word puzzles game infused with organic quotes.

- It contains thoughts from various people, the philosophers, geniuses to artists. The blends dated back from BC to recent periods, spanning from East to West. (The way I put it, indeed it must contain some wicked flamboyant delicacy nutrition.)

- Its genuinely 100% word puzzles. Mean, there are no things like grinding adventures, leveling up characters, upgrading items, or bitter online competitions. It's just you, a scratchy head, and the riddles.

Well, does it do any good?

At first, you might appear to be wandering around into a relaxing world of words & beauty, solving dozens of nonsense enigmas. However, As 20Words steadily buzzing about the eloquent from 'virtue of living,' you will begin to look beyond and start revealing its mystical energy. Chill out, solve the puzzles, 'like' some, and make them as your life-mantra. Perhaps, then your life will change.

Not convinced? Well, I merely summing up why myself got hooked. But, who knows... only time can tell. The one thing I'm sure of, being a free goodie, it seems a bargain of the millennia.

- just adding the QR code on the screenshot, hopefully make it easier for people who want to try the game

Nice graphics. Cute SFX. Controls can be improved, sometimes missed to navigate the 'word' to the place that I want to be

This is a pretty cool game. I like all the different challenges and the idea of using famous quotes. One suggestion I would make would be to show how many letters are in each word. I found it too difficult without using the clues so I think that would help. I wouldn't include words like 'the' or 'and' in the word search, I would have them revealed at the top from the beginning. When I got to the timed challenge I found it a bit difficult to get the letters to go into the right place. I really enjoyed playing this and I would say it just needs a bit of polish. Maybe the buttons and letters could do with some design improvement.

I really like how you swap the cards with the hints, however it wasn't that intuitive for me. There is plenty of "juice" like animations and they feel very nice.

The swapping of the words felt way too sensitive. Words where swapping quickly and when I release my finger it often ended up on the wrong side. I think it has to do with size of the words, when you swap a long word for a short one it will swap back because the spot where it would go changed, a possible fix would be to have static spots whenever a user starts dragging a word.

The concept is good but it feels rather shallow, I have been playing till lvl 8 however. I have been thinking about how you could make it more interesting and came up with something. Only one initial word can be created and the board would either change up or being pulled together after the letters disappear, then another word can be created. This would make it slightly more challenging I think, and perhaps more interesting.

Thanks for the wonderful feedback. I'm really enjoy hearing what people tell.

Sorry for the late reply,
I'm busily making changes to make ability to personalize some aspect of the game,

Initially, I make 20Words as a light educational entertainment. Something that people play before going to bed or to kill idle time. But, maybe it's gone off track a bit, and becoming too 'monotonous' Hopefully, with the upcoming changes, it can help to revive some part of it.

Btw, your feedback give me lots of thoughts, for this game, and generally help me to grow. Again, thanks for trying & writing this great suggestions... Hopefully you also get something back while playing on it.

Animation Mechanics
Let's start off by saying that this is not my kind of game, but, I wanted to give it a try anyway.

Let's start with the cons:

- The game tutorial is hard to skip, the swipe mechanic is a bit weird, maybe a simple arrow click for the next slide would be better?
- Some bugs make the game stop working randomly (makes sense, it happens to all of us when developing a game).
- The song, although it fits the theme perfectly, might be a bit repetitive.
- The game mechanic is simple, but maybe too simple?

Pros:

- Graphics are nice.
- The music and sounds are nice.
- The tranisitions are top notch, I love them. Fluid, original, simple, functional, but not bland. Colourful in its way, without overdoing it.
- Props for the in-game scrollable option menu. You don't usually see something that fluid in games.

What to add/fix for the future:

Add more mechanics to the game. I feel that simply following a line may be boring after some levels. Maybe add words formed with diagonals? Or words that need you to skip a certain amount of letters to form it? Overall, the game is nice. I feel a Brain Training meets Scrabble coming soon. It's relaxing, can be fun at times, and looks neat. Keep working on it!

Good luck!

hey there,
for some reason, the notification didn't come to my email. Sorry for the late reply
Woww... you wrote lots of things... I really appreciate your effort & I love it. KUDOS!

Yeah, we have been bashing out the bugs... the latest one should be more stable than before.
If you have completed 10 levels or more, then you have the options to personalise some things.

Again, thanks for your feedback and looking a way to incorporate some of it into the future release.

forgot to mention that 20Words is probably best to play just before going to bed. You don't want 'adrenaline rush' games, rather than relaxing, nice ambient, or close to 'boring'... then, after 30mins or so... Zzzz... zzz...

Purrrfect, right! :-)

And, interestingly, some said, during that state the brain can remember things better, as it closer to alpha & delta phase. That's why we put positive affirmation, like quotes in it. (don't trust 100%, you gotta to research it yourself)

Lastly,
Did you realise, if you leave the level idle, the background changes very subty. We love it so much...

Very nice and relaxing game. The sound effects were very interesting. I liked the encouraging quotes. The controls during the gameplay was fine, but swiping to change the tutorials were kind of awkward. Other than that it is a cool game for what it is. I wish you success!

hi there,
Thanks for your feedback, and you're not the first one to say that.
I'll contemplate how to refine it.

And, likewise, wish you success for your game, Puzzle Sage
