Hey there all you roasters! This is a sneak-peek at our newest feature, forums! Currently there is only this General Discussion forum topic but soon you'll be able to create your own forum topics about anything on your mind.

Look for the new forums feature in the next few days.

While you're waiting, feel free to introduce yourself/your game here. Happy roasting!

Cool, this should be a nice feature. I just now joined, so I'll introduce myself.

My name is Trevor (A.K.A, ShyyGuy) and I'm working on a 2D dark fantasy action RPG in C#/MonoGame. The game takes bits of inspiration from 'Dark Souls', 'Skyrim' and minor influences from other games such as 'Starbound'.

Hey. Just started using this site. Pretty cool to say the least!

Just thought to give a quick suggestion though:
Maybe add a "Sound Effects/Music" listing to the "Favorite aspect/Needs most work" section as I definitely think that music and sound effects play a big role in videogames.

If that could be addded, I'd be a happy man.

@sebit0nic Great, I'm glad you like the site.

I'll add your suggestion to my to-do list :)

I would suggest maybe adding a bit of ground rules... "roast" usually indicates an open forum to be cutting and maybe even "burn" the subject... is that ok?

Also, I would suggest adding something in the icon or whatever, to indicate that a game has been updated and it's ready for re-roasting!

@mariospants Thanks for your suggestions. I've added some more content to the About page detailing what is considered acceptable in a roast.

Awesome, I could really see this being a very useful web site -- assuming that people give and take comments in the spirit of a roast... that is, reflection and critique. Industrial designers, architects, and clothing designers are all familiar with "the crit" and it can be soul-gutting to hear all that's wrong with your product, but knowing the worst that people say is infinitely better than hearing platitudes that might make you wonder why the game didn't succeed.

Great service. We got feedback which was super valuable. I'm going to try and roast atleast one game everyday.

Quick question: Is there a way to filter games by platform? I end up having to go through many games before I find one that I can test. Filtering by platform would be a great help.

Yes, you can filter by platform on the left side of the search page. Here is filtering by PC platform: https://roastmygame.com/games?query=&genre=&platform=platform_pc&order=views
