GalBlazer is a vertical scrolling SHOOT-EM-UP with several power-ups that you can obtain, as well as an endless supply of enemies to destroy. As you blow up enemy ships, the numbers will increase each wave. The art direction and style is based heavily off of retro shooter games from the SNES/TurboGraphix era. All sprites, music, and sound fx are original creations. The game is programmed in Python using the Pygame libraries (which is essentially an SDL wrapper).

Game Graphics Level Design

The graphics stick out to me because they match older SNES style graphics, which I'm a huge fan of.

Speaking of SNES, let's confront the elephant in the room: You've basically stolen the level style and graphics of Super Mario World. That bothers me.

Story/Writing/Dialogue Controls

I just have a handful suggestions to make: Make the text match the low-resolution style of the rest of the graphics, assign another key for talking that isn't the same as attacking (just looks weird to attack people while trying to talk to them), enemies take a little too long to kill (I'd prefer just having to fight more each wave), and I ran into a glitch where I could jump into the opening at the top of the hub area and got stuck.

Overall, I think it's a neat game and instant noodles is an interesting motivation for the player.

Thank you for taking the time to try the game out. Your support means a lot to me!

All the missing features will be fleshed out in future releases once the basic game mechanics are polished, so stay tuned.
